Emergency Lighting

At S & T Electrical we are able to provide a full installation service such as a mains upgrade to a full commercial or industrial installation. We can design electrical systems or work from a given specification.

We carry out wet pressure testing of all dry risers using a mobile vehicle mounted test rig. We issue required certification. We are able to repair dry riser systems. Where sprinklers are installed we are able to test these also.

S & T Electrical can design and install fire detection systems it is important that fire alarm is tested and maintained in accordance with BS 5839-1. It is required that every device is activated in a 12 month period using smoke or heat. It is generally carried out over two 6 monthly visits and a log book should be kept on site and regularly updated.

S & T Electrical design and install emergency lighting systems. It is important that emergency lighting is tested and maintained in accordance with BS 5266-12016. The minimum required is a 3 hour annual test and a 1 hour 6 monthly discharge test and a flick test is required monthly.

We are able to design and install door entry systems both video and audio types. These can include additional features such as key code entry and proximity fob readers. We are also able to repair existing systems and hold a large range of replacement parts.

Periodic testing is now recognized as being important for the electrical safety of all installations. We carry out landlords domestic testing up to larger installations such as care homes / public buildings / industrial premises. Our certification is stored on a central data base for easy access.

Commercial & Domestic electrical

We carry out repairs and maintenance to all AOV systems whether they are stand alone systems operated by a Firemans switch or if they are integrated into a fire detection system. It is necessary to operate the system on a regular basis and any mechanical moving parts should be lubricated as necessary. Full certification for compliance can be issued.

We regularly repair high level street lighting using a mechanical lift and our engineers are IPAF registered for all types of access equipment. We carry out LED upgrades to existing street lighting. Also planned maintenance of street lighting is catered for.
